Job SummaryFlex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we're calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Product Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus.
Reporting to the Senior Product Engineer the Product Engineer is responsible for receiving, evaluating, customizing, and implementing all technical information and product documentation from customers related to New Product Introduction (NPI), product transfers, and engineering changes. Ensures that manufacturing processes are established and maintained while preserving product design integrity, quality, reliability, and performance. Supports electronic products and rack-level assemblies while driving continuous improvement initiatives through Agile methodologies and MES systems.
What a typical day looks like:
- Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) and product transfer activities from customer to manufacturing.
- Evaluate customer documentation, engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
- Support production by troubleshooting product-related issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Agile methodologies and cross-functional collaboration.
- Manage product configuration and manufacturing data through MES systems (FlexFlow preferred).
- Coordinate engineering changes, Product Change Notifications (PCN), and Manufacturing Change Orders (MCO).
- Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM), root cause analysis, DOE, tolerance evaluations, and failure investigations.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve technical issues and improve product performance.
- Review and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, process flows, and product specifications.
- Support supply chain initiatives related to localization, alternate sourcing, and new component qualifications.
- Evaluate safety requirements, compliance standards, and customer-specific specifications.
- Provide technical training and support to Manufacturing Engineers, Process Engineers, Technicians, and production personnel.
- Manage engineering samples, golden samples, and product validation activities.
- Support rack-level electronic assemblies and systems integration projects.
- Participate in customer and supplier meetings, including meetings outside standard business hours due to different time zones.
- Lead and mentor engineering technicians as business and program requirements grow.
- Analyze production performance, yield, quality, and productivity metrics to drive improvement opportunities.
- Support prototype, pilot, and production builds.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- BA/BS in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and electronics assembly processes.
- Experience supporting new product launches and product transfers within manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Experience with MES systems, preferably FlexFlow.
- Strong understanding of NPI processes.
- Intermediate English (spoken and written).
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis expertise.
- Experience leading maintenance teams.
- Availability shift.
