To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Quality Engineer located in Manchester, CT.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining quality engineering programs, systems, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, customer, and internal requirements. This role focuses on product, process, and equipment quality and works cross‑functionally to drive effective quality outcomes across operations.
What a typical day looks like:
- Develop, implement, and maintain standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation of materials, products, and processes.
- Establish and maintain sampling plans and quality data collection methods; design and maintain forms, instructions, and records for evaluating and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Develop and implement procedures for the identification, disposition, and documentation of nonconforming material, including assessment of quality impact and associated costs.
- Support and guide personnel involved in measurement, inspection, and testing activities related to material, product, and process quality.
- Prepare, maintain, and deliver training materials and training sessions related to quality standards, procedures, and quality control activities.
- Support Product Engineering, Operations, and Quality Program Management during internal and customer interactions on quality‑related topics, as required.
- Ensure availability, integrity, consolidation, and reporting of quality data and key quality metrics.
- Initiate, document, and track corrective and preventive actions to closure and verify effectiveness.
- Support the planning, execution, and follow‑up of internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Develop, apply, revise, and maintain quality standards governing the processing of materials into partially finished and finished products.
- Define and implement inspection and testing methods to evaluate product conformity and process capability.
- Review quality reports, trends, and returned product information and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Establish and maintain programs to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production, inspection, and measurement equipment.
- Review and approve product, process, and equipment qualification activities in accordance with defined procedures.
- Serve as a quality liaison to regulatory agencies and external organizations, as required.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality engineering or quality assurance role within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to apply statistical and analytical methods to evaluate quality performance, process capability, and risk.
- Ability to interpret and apply technical requirements, procedures, specifications, and standards.
- Ability to manage multiple quality activities and priorities in a structured and compliant manner.
- Statistical analysis and sampling techniques, root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies, inspection and measurement systems, process qualification and validation support, quality data analysis, trending, and reporting & Internal and external audit support.
- Strong understanding of Quality Management System principles and process‑based quality controls
- Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams including Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain
- Clear technical communication skills, both written and verbal
- Structured problem‑solving and risk‑based thinking
- Ability to train, coach, and support others on quality requirements and practices
