To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Advanced Technology Site Director (SATC) located in Kallang, Singapore.

The Advanced Technology Site Director (SATC) is accountable for leading the site's research and development of next‑generation power conversion technologies that will be introduced into compnay products over the next 4–6 years. This role provides technical, strategic, and organizational leadership to a multidisciplinary team of researchers, engineers, and technicians.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Define and lead 5‑year advanced technology roadmap aligned with business strategy, market trends, and industry technology evolution.
    Target applications include data center high‑power AC/DC rectifiers, power shelves, energy storage systems (BBU, CBU), solid‑state transformers (SST), and board‑mount power modules.
  • Develop best‑in‑class power conversion technologies that differentiate Flex from Tier‑1 competitors and support long‑term business growth.
  • Lead research and innovation of high‑power switching power supplies for data center and infrastructure applications, with scope extending beyond the defined target products.
  • Drive investigation and adoption of advanced materials and structures, including magnetic core materials, geometries, winding techniques, insulation methods, and mechanical/assembly architectures to optimize efficiency, power density, and reliability.
  • Evaluate and develop next‑generation devices, cooling technologies, power architectures, topologies, and digital/firmware control algorithms to achieve best‑in‑class performance.
  • Oversee circuit analysis, modeling, and simulation, including control loop stability, magnetics design, thermal management, and system‑level optimization.
  • Lead the development of proof‑of‑concept platforms with sufficient maturity to be transferred to advanced engineering and product design teams for platformization and commercialization.
  • Provide expert technical support to global design centers in resolving complex and high‑risk design challenges.
  • Support the VP of Engineering and executive leadership in technology reviews, customer engagements, and POC demonstrations.
  • Partner with suppliers to identify, influence, and drive adoption of emerging components, devices, and manufacturing technologies aligned with company's future requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the Power Organization CTO and Advanced Engineering teams on new inventions, IP creation, and long‑term technology strategy.
  • Actively participate in industry and academic workgroups (e.g., CPES, IEEE, and related forums) to bring external innovation and thought leadership into the Flex engineering community.
  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership and promote structured knowledge sharing across company power engineering teams.

Experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • 10–15+ years of experience in power electronics, with strong background in high‑power conversion design, advanced research, innovation, and patent generation.
    Experience with data center infrastructure products (power shelves, racks, BBU, energy storage, SST) is a plus.
  • Deep technical expertise in power supply architectures and topologies, such as Totem‑Pole PFC, Vienna PFC, T‑NPC, ANPC, Flyback, LLC, CLLC, DAB, and related high‑power designs.
  • Experience with engineering and simulation tools such as MATLAB, MathCAD, SIMetrix, PLECS, schematic capture, and PCB layout tools.
  • Experience in leading and developing high performance engineering teams, with hands‑on and technical leadership
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in English, capable of engaging with customers, executives, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross‑cultural collaboration skills, able to work effectively across regions, disciplines, and organizational levels.
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or Power Electronics required; PhD preferred.
