Job Summary

In our European Design Centers in Stuttgart, Timisoara and Budapest, our team creates technologies for the next-generation electric vehicle market. Our power electronics portfolio includes HV and 48V DC/DC converters, onboard chargers, HV traction inverters and battery management systems.

To support our core design team, we are currently looking for a

Software Architect – Power Electronics (m/f/d)

What a typical day looks like:

  • Drive technical development of high and low voltage AC and DC power electronics ECUs based on latest MCU platforms in automotive environment.
  • Make architectural decisions with the team also related to Hardware/Schematics/Layout topics which relate to MCU/Software topics, and provide input to Hardware, System & Functional Safety teams.
  • Provide overview of development roadmap to team
  • Execute code reviews
  • Design software architecture for power electronics products such as OBC, HV DC/DC Converters and HV Inverters
  • Functionally lead software teams and closely collaborate with other engineering functions (e.g., hardware and mechanical department)
  • Document software architecture and designs in UML tools such as Enterprise Architect
  • Describe architecture designs using several views which include:
    • a static view showing the code structure of the system
    • a dynamic view showing the actions of the system during execution
    • and a deployment view showing how a system is placed on hardware for execution
  • Drive continuous improvement of team collaboration & ways of working.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Full understanding of microcontrollers down to register level, can learn new platfoms by CPU manual and MCU ref manual
  • Familiar with Assembler, Master of C.
  • Compilers, Make, GIT, MISRA C
  • Schematics, PCB design and manufacturing
  • Power Electronics topologies
  • Control Theory fundamentals: cascaded PID Controller and typical implementations in C / Simulink, PID gain tuning
  • ISO26262 Functional Safety fundamentals
  • Familiar with typical lab Equipment: Oscilloscopes, Debuggers (Lauterbach), thermal cameras
  • Ability to "own" software topics on product level and influence system level decisions
  • Fluent English knowledge both in written and spoken form
  • Demonstrated years  of experience in Embedded systems and/or as Software architect
  • University degree - preferably computer science, electronics or similar

We consider the following experiences as a plus:

  • Automotive SW ecosystem: Vector tools, Autosar, UDS (ISO14229), OEM specific diagnostic specifications (nice to have)
    H) Matlab / Simulink (nice to have)
