Job Summary

Mirror Controls international (MCi), a Flex company, is the global market leader in mirror glass and power-folding actuators. Currently MCi is expanding its product portfolio to other Automotive actuation solutions such as Active Aerodynamics & Motor cooling management.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a a skilled and motivated Electronics talented and innovative Test Development Engineer located in our Woerden, Netherlands site.

In this role, you will focus on designing, developing, and improving test methods and systems to ensure optimal product performance. The ideal candidate will have a passion for innovation, a strong technical background, and the ability to collaborate across teams to drive testing excellence.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Develop and design test methods for evaluating product performance and properties, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams and customers to create detailed test plans and ensure the successful execution of tests.
  • Conduct tests, analyze results, and provide actionable insights, both orally and in written reports.
  • Actively participate in design reviews and product development, offering expert consultation on testing strategies and design improvements.
  • Support DFMEA processes and provide technical input to improve design robustness.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of test equipment, methods, and processes, including MSA and calibration software.
  • Supervise and mentor testers, ensuring best practices in testing methodology.
  • Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, workload, and test outcomes.
  • Generate and maintain quality documents (SPTs, SPQs, WIs, and Lab Scope) to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Advise on test equipment procurement by drafting technical specifications and evaluating supplier options.
  • Innovate new testing technologies and approaches to ensure our processes are ahead of industry trends.
  • Ensure effective data management by archiving test reports and data, while supporting other departments with testing expertise.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety and quality standards.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, or similar).
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (written and verbal).
  • Experience in test development and validation, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanics, electronics, vibration theory, and plastics.
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis tools and techniques, with experience in Six Sigma, R&R, and MSA methodologies.
  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards (ISO, TS16949, SPC, 8D problem-solving).
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
  • Experience with test automation tools and software is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and drive improvements in testing processes.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills, customer-focused, analytical, and solution-oriented.
