Description



The National Louis University Physician Assistant Program seeks adjunct faculty to support didactic and/or clinical instruction. This part-time position focuses on teaching, student engagement, and course support within the PA curriculum. Adjunct faculty contribute to high-quality education by delivering course content, assessing student performance, and supporting program learning outcomes in alignment with ARC-PA standards.

 

The National Louis University (NLU) Physician Assistant Program will apply for Accreditation - Provisional from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). The NLU Physician Assistant Program anticipates matriculating its first class in October of 2027, pending achievement of Accreditation - Provisional status at the July of 2027 ARC-PA meeting. Accreditation - Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program's ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding accreditation-provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students.




Required:

  • Master's degree or higher in a healthcare-related field.
  • Current or eligibility for licensure in the state of Illinois (if applicable).
  • Clinical experience as a healthcare provider (Physician Assistant preferred).
  • Prior teaching, precepting, or instructional experience in healthcare education preferred.

  • Deliver assigned lectures, labs, or clinical instruction consistent with course objectives and program goals.
  • Collaborate with course directors and principal faculty to ensure alignment of instructional content with curriculum design.
  • Evaluate student performance through grading, assessments, and timely feedback.
  • Participate in student remediation activities as directed by course leadership.
  • Maintain course materials, syllabi components, and learning resources within the learning management system.
  • Ensure instructional content aligns with current clinical practice standards.
  • Participate in program meetings or training sessions as needed.
  • Support student engagement through mentorship and professional role modeling.
  • Comply with institutional policies and accreditation standards (ARC-PA).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director or designee.

  • Work collaboratively with program faculty and staff.
  • Participate in curriculum delivery and continuous quality improvement efforts as requested.

Clinical Practice (if applicable)

  • Maintain current clinical knowledge and credentials to support teaching effectiveness.

Work Environment:

Primarily classroom, laboratory, or clinical setting. May require occasional travel to clinical or campus sites in the Chicago area.
