SUMMARY:
The Program Manager will lead the launch and ongoing management of our Non-public special education program at Fusion Academy. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our educational model. The Program Manager will play a critical role in designing and implementing the program while managing all aspects of operations, staffing, and future growth. As the leader of this innovative initiative, the Program Manager will also act as the Head of School, ensuring high standards of personalized education and student success.
ROLE TYPE: In Person. Located in Illinois. This person must live in (or be willing to relocate to) Illinois.

REPORTS TO: Vice President, New School Development located in Grand Rapids MI.
PAY RANGE: $100,000 - $115,000 per year USD
YOUR DAY TO DAY:
- Lead and oversee the implementation of the new special education program, ensuring that program goals and objectives are aligned with Fusion Academy's mission and values.
- Develop and manage individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure compliance with local, state and federal special education regulations.
- Work closely with educational specialists, therapists, and teachers to ensure all students receive the necessary academic, emotional, and social support.
- Recruit, train, manage a multidisciplinary team of teachers, therapists, and support staff, ensuring they have the necessary resources and professional development to succeed.
- Manage the budget for the special education program, ensuring efficient use of resources while maintaining program quality.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure smooth program operations and compliance.
- Build relationships with local school districts, advocacy groups, and special education professionals to promote the program and ensure integration with broader educational systems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in special education, educational leadership, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
- Must possess an IL, LBS1 certification (Learning Behavior Specialist), and be qualified to serve as the registered agent with the state.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in special education, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Deep understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and compliance with special education laws (IDEA, Section 504).
- Proven ability to manage a multidisciplinary team and work closely collaboratively with educators, therapists, and families.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage program budgets and operations effectively.
- Passion for working with students with diverse learning needs and a commitment to personalized education.
