Description

The Employee Relations Compliance Specialist II is a mid-level role that provides advanced support across Corporate, Distribution Center, and Retail environments, focusing on complex employee relations matters and compliance initiatives. This position is responsible for independently managing sensitive compliance cases such as escalated attendance and background check issues, workplace misconduct and shoplifting prevention violations. Conducts leadership-level exit interviews and fitness-for-duty assessments, and partners closely with Legal, Compliance, and HR to ensure consistent policy enforcement and mitigate organizational risk. A key component of the role involves analyzing employee relations data to identify trends and inform proactive strategies, as well as contributing to the development and refinement of workplace policies and procedures. Additionally, the role integrates technology into ER practices by managing the ER ticketing system, training Vera (the AllVoices AI assistant), and leveraging artificial intelligence tools such as OpenAI and Microsoft Copilot to enhance documentation, reporting, and case management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead compliance-related investigations, including Shoplifting Prevention & Response (SPR) and Fitness for Duty (FFD), and assist with ER investigations outside of normal scope as needed. 
  • Analyze reporting from AllVoices, Ticketing, UKG, CMS, Tableau, and other systems to identify trends and draw meaningful insights for ER leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Manage escalated attendance matters and background checks requiring advanced review, exercising independent judgment and risk assessment.
  • Manage the Ticketing system, ensuring canned responses, guidance documents, and resources are current and accurate.     
  • Assist with exit interviews for leadership-level roles, document feedback, and provide input into trends analysis.
  • Support training and development of Vera (AI assistant), ensuring effective prompting, accuracy, and responsible use of AI tools.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $73,600 – $110,400 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.

Requirements

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Computer Science, or Communications preferred, or related field.
  • Other   SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR preferred.
  • Minimum 3 -5 years direct experience independently leading workplace investigations or advising on complex employee relations issues (or Master's degree in a similar discipline with minimum 3 years of related work experience)
  • 3 years experience in the specialty areas of HR Service Center, Drug Free Workplace, Compliance, Performance Management, ADA/LOA

Physical Requirements
Corporate - Remote - General office environment requiring ability to: *Stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time . *Speak and listen to others in person and over the phone and video conferencing. *Use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports. *The ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
