Description

The Retail Sr. Specialist supports daily store operations, key initiatives, projects, and events across 1,600+ stores. This subject matter expert collaborates cross-functionally to execute improvements in processes and systems that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the store Associate and customer experience. This role acts as a bridge between the stores and corporate teams, using technical skills, operational know-how, and clear communication to continue making Harbor Freight the best place to work and shop.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between corporate, stores, and field leadership.         
  • Gather, consolidate, and analyze qualitative and quantitative feedback on systems, processes, and store experiences. Diagnose performance issues using surveys, internal communication platforms, support tickets, and store visits, and recommend solutions to eliminate recurring challenges.
  • Document requirements, project plans, business cases, processes (SOPs, resource guides, job aids, etc.), policies, and presentations in alignment with all standards. Validate that documentation clearly and concisely illustrates operational policies, procedures, and system functionality.            
  • Lead analysis, testing, validation, and implementation efforts for process and system changes and deployments.       
  • Support cross-functional workstreams to ensure projects meet stated objectives while remaining on time and on budget.        
  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise on retail systems and processes.   
  • Additional duties as assigned.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $73600– $110,400 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.

Education Requirements
  • High School or GED         
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred

Years of Experience
  • 3-5 years working in a corporate environment and knowledge of retail operational processes
  • 3-5 years working with a company that has brick-and-mortar store locations and knowledge of retail operational processes

  • Specific software experience based on Retail Ops role:
  • PI/Ops: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including intermediate Excel skills); SQL, Databricks or scripting knowledge is a plus;
  • Comms: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook a requirement;
  • Design: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook a requirement and Adobe Creative Suite

Physical Requirements
General office environment requiring ability to:
  • Stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time.
  • Speak and listen to others in person and over the phone and video conferencing.
  • Use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports.
  • The ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
