BASIC FUNCTION NOTE: Sponsorship will NOT be offered either now or in the future and relocation assistance is NOT available ~ HCSC is looking for a dynamic individual to join its Treasury department in the Chicago IL office! This role assists the Manager of Corporate Risk & Insurance with the management of corporate insurance policies and renewals, claims reporting, captive reporting, maintaining insurance policy databases and electronic files as well as reviewing of vendor contract requests. The Risk Analyst seeks to identify, measure, and mitigate various risk exposures. This role is hybrid/flex and requires in-office visibility three days per week, working from the other two.REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree (specialty in Risk Management, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or Finance, preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in Risk Management, Claims Adjusting, Brokerage or Underwriting.
- Ability to work independently and interact with others.
- Willingness to learn Property/Casualty insurance, including appropriate federal and state legislation, reporting requirements.
- Clear and concise interpersonal, verbal, & written communication skills.
- Solid project management skills to bring assignments to completion.
- PC proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, RIMS system & Outlook.
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting OR Finance.
- Industry certifications preferred: Associate in Claims (AIC) and Associate in Claims–Management (AIC-M).
- Proficiency in data analysis tools, risk management software, and potentially programming languages.
~ KEY ROLE FUNCTIONS ~
Prepare, update and assist with renewal applications for various insurance policy renewals (i.e. Managed Care/ Errors & Omissions, Directors & Officers, Employment Practices, Fidelity Bond, Cyber Privacy, Fiduciary, Workers Compensation, General Liability, Auto, Property, Umbrella, and other special lines of coverage).
Review and respond to insurance provisions provided in RFPs and provide alternative language to comply with existing insurance policy terms.
Review and respond to Procurement requests on insurance provisions for HCSC Services contracts.
Perform claims management for corporate insurance policies including Quarterly Claim Reviews with TPA/Carriers and coordination of Internal and External resources.
Keep up-to-date status on claims, settlements, trends and records changes in folders and Risk Information Management System database.
Analyze trend information and informs management of trends.
Act as Subject Matter Expert with respect to Workers Compensation claims and related questions.
Assist in the oversight of the company's captive insurance company, including monthly responsibilities for claims reporting, and participation in annual regulatory filings and audit.
Maintain insurance policy files; submit and process vendor invoices for payment.
Prepares and submits State Statutory Self-Insurance Filings.
Conduct annual carrier exposure true ups and confirm additional premiums due.
Maintain current industry knowledge through attendance of Claims, Risk & Insurance seminars as well as enrollment in relevant professional educational coursework.
Provide ongoing risk management support and assistance as needed.
