This position is responsible for providing business intelligence support for the enterprise portfolio; thought leadership to the identification and reporting of systematic enterprise portfolio performance imperatives such as delivery health, benefits, and lifetime cost. This position is also responsible for the preparation of models, trend analyses of enterprise portfolio performance and implications for the purposes of presenting to senior leaders and driving a deep understanding of the financial outcomes of the enterprise portfolio. This position will also demonstrate a deep understanding of industry concepts, including an understanding of the Company's specific practices, procedures, systems, and applications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads and performs analyses to determine overall health of enterprise portfolio. Provides guidance and advises process changes to support the enterprise prioritization process.
  • Analyzes complex enterprise portfolio problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide expert insight and analysis to decision-makers, often addressing difficult questions to overcome resistance and secure support.
  • Advises enterprise portfolio by providing data-based strategic direction including short and long-range financial projections, to identify and address enterprise portfolio issues and opportunities.
  • Presents to senior leaders the findings of research and insights from data analysis.
  • Designs and develops models, studies and databases that will support analyses of financial outcomes for the enterprise portfolio.
  • Leads, provides, and reviews analysis defining business requirements and measuring performance, impacts, technical solutions and enhancements for enterprise portfolio process or changes across all applicable systems supporting the enterprise portfolio.
  • Utilizes and customizes historical databases of income and claims to support departmental functions.
  • Leads and performs complex analysis, reviews related analyses, and demonstrates a deep understanding of the financial outcomes for the enterprise portfolio.
  • Creates reporting, prepares, and reviews documents and/or data, and assists in development of presentations used for the current and historical monitoring of delivery health, resource management, benefits, and all other areas of portfolio performance to support enterprise portfolio and departmental needs.
  • Facilitates projects, and leads the work of others as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics, or related fields. Other bachelor's degrees may be considered.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in health care services, statistical analysis, financial analysis, financial consulting or insurance industry economics.
  • Advanced PC proficiency to include Excel, Access or similar. Proficiency in designing reports.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills to prepare effective documentation, facilitate training and development, and participate in presentations.
  • Experience working cross-functionally within all levels of the organization, leading projects and in problem resolution.
  • Experience in developing, maintaining and leveraging collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and business leaders, to accept recommendations, cooperate or change their behavior, facilitating the accomplishment of business goals.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills.

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics.
  • Extensive Health insurance industry experience with the ability to surface and resolve complex problems.
  • Able to apply deep expertise to produce ad-hoc datasets, reports and analysis using system reporting tools, business data and historical market knowledge.
  • Access, Tableau, SQL, Visual Basic or other programming skills.
