Description

Primary and Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages inventory
    • Creates, organizes, and manages bin locations to facilitate timely access and issue of parts
    • Ensures orderliness, accuracy, and physical security of all inventory within the building
    • Manages and conducts inventory counts, to include daily cycle counts and annual inventory
    • Develops and maintains charts and graphs to track and communicate inventory metrics
    • Develops plans and schedules to support accountability throughout production operations
    • Tracks all inventory transactions to ensure accuracy of accounting records.
    • Conducts monthly production pulls to support on-time delivery and forecast shortages no less than 90 days prior to the production start date
    • Ensures proper documentation retention for all inventory transactions in accordance with company policy
    • Cross trains to the Shipping & Receiving Department's roles and responsibilities to ensure coverage of entire warehouse responsibilities
  • Assist swith purchasing tasks
    • Works with project managers/engineers to determine basis of award for returned quotes from suppliers
    • Creates purchase orders in SAP
    • Communicates with suppliers
    • Processes all mandated paperwork (ISO and Corporate) to add a new supplier to the approved supplier list in SAP
    • Maintains supplier records in SAP
    • Works with Quality to maintain ISO required documents for purchasing
    • Processes inventory pulls in SAP
    • Runs reports in SAP for projects
  • Assists with in the Shipping/Receiving area
    • Leads communications within the Shipping/Receiving area--Schedules and coordinates both domestic and international freight forwarder transactions
    • Ensures freight forwarders are selected based on company objectives for cost and delivery
    • Prepares shipping paperwork as well as completes shipping transaction in appropriate systems
    • Coordinates Returned Material Authorization (RMA) process with QA and customers to ensure RMA number / sales orders are closed out upon return to facility
    • Prepares boxes with appropriate labels for shipment as required
    • Provides guidance to others within the Shipping/Receiving area
  • Adheres to all quality and safety standards
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

  • May participate in cross-functional teams and work groups

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • May supervise interns as required

Years Experience

Level of Education

At least 2-3 years of relevant work experience.  SAP experience preferred. 

  High School diploma or  equivalent required

  • Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • Experience with SAP preferred

 

Work Environment                                                                                                            

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:

  • Work is accomplished in a typical office environment with adequate environmental (heating/cooling) control. The noise level in the work environment is moderate due to noises associated with computer equipment and environmental control systems. 
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets
  • Access to operations and manufacturing areas may involve exposure to loud noises, dust, fumes, oils, and fluctuations in temperature

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Performs all work in accordance with safety and workmanship and good housekeeping specifications
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee alternates between sitting and standing/walking for long periods of time
  • This position requires the ability to lift manufacturing supplies, up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required per plant rules

 

Training

  • New employee safety orientation and training on special tools or software required for job performance

 

This position requires access to or use of export-controlled technical data or technology controlled by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
