Sign on Bonus Available Holyoke Medical Center is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join our close-knit team as the dedicated Critical Care expert embedded across our Emergency Department (ED) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Our units are collaborative, offering a practice environment where you can build meaningful relationships with providers, nurses, and staff while making a real impact on patient care every day. This is not an operational or dispensing-heavy role. The focus is on clinical expertise, education, and collaboration # you will spend your time at the bedside, on rounds, and as a trusted consultant to the care team. This position works day shifts with no weekend, holiday, or on-call obligations, giving you a sustainable schedule that supports both professional excellence and personal well-being. You will serve as the primary pharmacy resource for ED and ICU providers and nurses # offering clinical decision support at the bedside, participating in codes and rapid response events, and contributing to medication management across critical care areas, including vasopressors, sedation and analgesia, neuromuscular blockade, anticoagulation, and antimicrobial therapy. This includes supporting point-of-care antibiotic selection and guiding de-escalation as culture data become available, in addition to other antimicrobial stewardship activities as indicated. This position reports to the Pharmacy Clinical Manager. Minimum Qualifications: Education # Licensure Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited program # Required Current, valid pharmacist licensure in the state of practice # Required (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date) Training # Experience PGY1 pharmacy residency in an acute care or health-system setting # Required PGY2 residency in Critical Care or Emergency Medicine # Strongly Preferred Candidates with years of clinical practice experience in a critical care or emergency medicine environment will be considered in lieu of PGY2 training. Prior experience with antimicrobial stewardship initiatives # Preferred Certifications Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification # Required Current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification # Required Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) certification # critical care or related areas # Preferred Knowledge, Skills # Abilities Advanced knowledge of critical care pharmacotherapy, including vasopressors, sedation/analgesia, neuromuscular blockade, anticoagulation, and resuscitation medications Strong command of antimicrobial stewardship principles, including empiric therapy selection, de-escalation, and PK/PD-guided dosing. Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in an acute care environment with varying patient volumes and clinical demands Proficiency with pharmacy information systems, automated dispensing technology, electronic medical records (EMR), and clinical decision support tools Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the care team Strong organizational, analytical, and critical-thinking skills with demonstrated ability to apply evidence-based medicine to complex patient cases Commitment to patient safety, continuous quality improvement, and interprofessional collaboration *** Hot Job ***
