Note: The compensation range noted above represents the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries will be determined based on the candidate#s relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. We continue to grow and address the needs of our community through quality and patient-centered care.# Our Pain Management Practice is seeking a Surgical Scheduler#to coordinate and carry out all surgical scheduling functions for the pain management office and to support the office assistants by providing customer service and performing general administrative tasks as needed.# Overview of responsibilities include but are not limited to: Coordinate and manage surgical scheduling, including operating room bookings, pre-admission testing, post-operative appointments, and schedule updates. Obtain and track insurance authorizations, referrals, and approvals required for surgical procedures, medications, and diagnostic testing. Maintain accurate patient demographic, insurance, and scheduling information in electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Communicate effectively with surgeons, providers, hospitals, primary care offices, and other departments to ensure seamless patient care and procedure preparation. Prepare, distribute, and manage surgical documentation, including consent forms, orders, histories, and physicals. Educate patients on surgical procedures, pre- and post-operative instructions, and appointment requirements. Perform patient check-in and check-out duties, including registration, insurance verification, scheduling follow-up visits, and coordinating diagnostic services. Answer and manage telephone communications, schedule appointments and meetings, prepare charts, scan documents, and maintain patient records. Support daily office operations by maintaining supplies, organizing files, distributing mail, recording meeting minutes, and assisting with office cleanliness. Provide administrative support, assist with staff training and cross-coverage, attend required meetings, and perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Experience:#Two years experience in a physician#s office or similar environment; experience in Spanish/English medical/health interpreting preferred; experience working with third party payors and working knowledge of ICD-9 and HCPC coding relative to surgery preferred Special Aptitudes # Activities:#The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Proficiency in computer systems, typing, filing, and accurately following verbal and written instructions is required. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems are preferred.
