Description

Center for Behavioral, Educational, and Social Therapies (C.B.E.S.T.), a division of The Stepping Stones Group, is urgently hiring for Behavior Technicians! This position allows you to work one on one with a child with behavioral needs in a school setting in East Los Angeles utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to meet specific goals for that child. This is a full time, benefits-eligible position with a schedule of Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:50am – 3:30pm, 30 hours per week.

Job Duties

• Work one on one with a child with moderate to severe behaviors (i.e. aggression, elopement, etc.) at an assigned school site.  
• Work collaboratively with a Case Supervisor to implement positive behavior intervention strategies to improve a child's functional behavior, emotional language and communication, socialization, academic performance, and independent daily living skills 
• Duties also include collecting, organizing, and summarizing behavioral data related to the child's behavior goals. 
• 1-year commitment to consistent and dependable attendance, as well as responsive and timely communication, is essential to the role. 

Requirements 

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors Degree in related field preferred. 
• Ability to work 30 hours per week, Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:50am - 3:30pm  
• Prior experience working with children required 
• Clear criminal background check, TB clearance, and reliable transportation required 
• Must be receptive and be willing to work with students who exhibit mild to severe behaviors (i.e., aggression, elopement, etc.). 
• Must be able to run short distances, sit on floor, bend down, squat, kneel, lift up to 25 lbs. and twist at the waist in order to interact and educate our clients. Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time. 
• Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), and/or Safety Care (QBS) is preferred
