What Are We Looking For?

The Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) / NDT Level II Inspector is responsible for testing and inspection of structural steel during erection on general building and pipeline sites, as well as occasional plant inspections.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and conduct the analysis, inspection, testing, and/or evaluation activities necessary to assure the quality of assigned products or components and accurately record results.
  • Perform visual inspections on welded products for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, and other discontinuities on both in-progress and completed work.
  • Document data obtained during all quality assurance activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  • Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, and micrometers.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work off-shift schedules and overtime as needed
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification
  • D1.1 Structural Steel and Level II Ultrasonics experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand and interpret tolerances
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications

  • Technical degree in Welding Technology or related field
  • Construction Materials Testing (CMT) experience
