The Laboratory Manager takes a technical role and has overall responsibility for the technical operations and the provision of the resources needed to ensure the required quality of laboratory operation. The Laboratory Manager shall maintain and improve the laboratory's technical operation efficient in a cost‐effective manner, ensure resources such as manpower, training, equipment, workflow is available to create a sustainable laboratory operation regionally.
- Implements, maintains, enforces, and improves the laboratory, the Company's operating plans for the following: Quality Management, Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance, Legal and Ethical Compliance. Training.
- Renders to clients an accurate, rapid and efficient testing service of indisputable integrity.
- Collaborates with local team to provide supervision of testing and review of results when necessary.
- Collaborates with local team to ensure that adequate calibrated equipment and trained personnel are available for all jobs.
- Collaborates with local team to evaluate laboratory employee performance, maintains discipline, and recommends hiring and dismissal.
- Appoints deputies for key laboratory duties and ensures personnel are aware of the relevance and importance of their activities and how their role contributes to the quality system.
- Follow‐up rapidly, all reports of workplace issues. Determines legitimacy of complaints and follow‐up on all legitimate complaints.
- Seeks new business.
- Is a positive company representative to clients.
- Carries out all responsibilities in a supportive manner with adherence to the Company's Safety Policy and procedures, Quality Management System, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management System.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree in business, science, or a related field (or equivalent experience )
- 2+ years of experience in outside sales or business development.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel at least 10% of the time
- Valid driver's license and reliable driving record is required
- Applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States.
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, or a related technical field
- 3+ years of experience in sales within the oil, gas, or chemical industries
- Familiarity with laboratory testing processes or quality assurance services
