PURPOSE OF POSITION:
- This individual will manage environmental maintenance, machinery operations and any related repairs and maintenance of the Environmental Maintenance Program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate heavy machinery (Backhoe, Mowers, Snow blowers, Hydro Clean Machine, Tractors, Manure Tanks, Trucks and Trailers)
- Routine operation and maintenance of shop equipment.
- Install and/or replace gate valves.
- Repair water lines, well water pumps, water meters, regulators, sewer lines and machinery etc.
- Assist in seasonal snow removal, mowing, weed spraying and site appearance.
- General maintenance as needed.
- Provide feedback to management where needed.
- Work autonomously and able to prioritize daily schedule base on work tickets.
- Demonstrate good listening skills and communication skills while working through support requests from production and other teams.
- Daily focus should be on welfare of animals, not personal issues.
- Demeanor should always be positive and professional.
- Attendance is critical in this position – be at work on your scheduled days and by the time given by your supervisor.
- Be friendly, positive, helpful, team-oriented, and respectful to co-workers and management teams
COMPANY EXPECTATIONS:
- Adhere to Iowa Select Farms bio-security policy at all times which includes reporting any violations or concerns to management team

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The environment of this position will change daily pending weekly schedule
- This position will have duties in all facilities of Iowa Select Farms so employee will need to be comfortable working in and being exposed to all facility environments.
- This position may require some tasks to be performed in extreme outside weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations.
- The environment you will be working will have nuisance levels of gasses and dust, particularly in the winter months
PHYSICALITY REQUIREMENTS
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
- The employee must be able to continuously repeat necessary movements such as bending, lifting and different hand movements as needed to complete tasks
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds along with climbing up ladders and over gates
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- This is a full-time position that will require a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Expected days and hours of operation include day-shift hours Monday-Fridays
- This position does require availability for a weekend on-call schedule.
- Occasional evening hours and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
- Additional availability may be required during staffing challenges
TRAVEL
- Regular local travel will be required for this position, which entails the utilization of a company vehicle.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with machinery operations and maintenance associated with the agricultural industry preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
