TITLE: IT Help Desk Technician (Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3)

PURPOSE OF POSITION: 

  • Provide technical and troubleshooting support to users in need of assistance at the corporate office and remote sites. Technical skills required will range from basic desktop hardware and software support to some server and network skills in a Windows Domain environment. Hardware responsibilities range from light construction tasks to technology hardware repair and replacement. Technical requirements span basic desktop hardware and software support through intermediate server and network support within a Windows domain environment. 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Essential Functions 
    • Provide end-users with troubleshooting or technical assistance at the corporate office.
    • Provide troubleshooting or technical assistance to remote sites and users via remote solutions or going on site. 
    • Assist in higher end solutions for IT Infrastructure (involving 3rd party software, Network, and Server technology)
    • Work on deployment strategies for end users.
    • Be able to travel between Iowa Falls and West Des Moines' offices as needs arise.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • No direct supervisory responsibilities for this position.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position is performed indoors.
  • This job operates in an office that is climate controlled and includes hazards typical to that environment. 
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
  • Occasional visits to farm sites following all biosecurity protocols.

 

PHYSICALITY REQUIREMENTS

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
  • Ability to read and write. 
  • Ability to lift to fifty pounds without assistance and up to 100 pounds with assistance. 


POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

  • This is a full-time position that will typically require at least 40 hours a week.
  • Additional availability may be required during staffing challenges. 
  • Occasional evening hours and weekend work may be required as the job duties demand. 
  • This is a full-time position with the expected days of Monday-Friday 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM


TRAVEL

  • Local travel will be required for this position through the utilization of a company vehicle. 


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and OTHER QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Education/ Experience: 
    •  AA or BA in a related academic discipline (MIS, computer science, IT). 
    •  1+ years of successful related experience for Tier 1
    •  3+ years of successful related experience for Tier 2
    •  7+ years of successful related experience for Tier 3
    • Experience in Windows 11
    • Experience in Window Domain Environments.
    • Experience with troubleshooting IT hardware and software.
    • Experience in customer service.
    • Experience in creating and modifying IT documentation.
    • Some IT knowledge of PC, server, network, and security technology required.
    • Ability to sit for long periods of time with users locally or on the phone with remote console sessions.
    • Be able to effectively communicate orally (in person and over the telephone) and in writing (using electronic devises and handwritten) with other employees and organizational contacts in English


  • You must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. 
  • Bilingual: Not Required
