Client Services- Referral Specialist
Location: Massachusetts (Travel to assigned schools required) Position Type: Full-Time, Entry-Level
Company Overview: The Stepping Stones Group (SSG) provides school-based mental health services to schools across Massachusetts. We are committed to supporting students' mental health by partnering with school districts and providing essential services that make a lasting impact. Position Overview: The Referral Specialist will play a key role in expanding access to The Stepping Stones Group's services by building and nurturing relationships with school staff to increase referrals. This individual will work closely with school principals, school counselors, and other key personnel to promote our services and grow the number of students benefiting from mental health support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the SSG Director of Client Services and MA Account Executive to expand SSG's presence in contracted school districts across Massachusetts.
- Serve as a point of contact for schools within an assigned territory to build relationships with school staff (e.g., principals, counselors, etc).
- Introduce and explain The Stepping Stones Group's mental health services to school leadership and staff.
- Train school staff on how to navigate the SSG referral process and any associated paperwork.
- Provide ongoing support and follow-up to ensure schools are referring eligible students for services.
- Maintain a regular schedule of school visits to keep communication channels open and foster a strong working relationship with school staff.
- Track and report referral growth and outreach efforts to management.
- Work with the internal clinical team to ensure proper follow-up on all referrals.
- Bachelor's degree
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, education, or a related field encouraged.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain relationships with school personnel.
- Experience in or collaboration with school settings preferred.
- Ability to travel throughout Massachusetts and work independently in a school-based environment.
- Understanding of or ability to learn Medicaid policies, procedures, and student eligibility criteria for mental health services.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and relationships.
- Passion for making a difference in the lives of students through increased access to mental health services.
