Job Summary:
Under indirect supervision, operates radiographic equipment to produce radiographs of structures in the human body that are utilized by physicians for the diagnosis of disease processes, and/or pathology. Utilizes technical judgment and skills to ensure that produced radiographs are of the highest diagnostic quality and demonstrate the area(s) of interest.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Essential Clinical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains patient information and test files/data bases Interviews patients to confirm/obtain necessary history
- Explains radiographic procedures to patient
- Operates radiographic equipment, and, performs for imaging tests as stipulated in the work assignment as defined in the scope of certification
- Where applicable, performs bone densitometry testing as per orders/requisition and standard protocols including the archiving of pre-and post-test data where applicable
- Properly positions patient for imaging and/or scanning
- Reviews completed scans for requisite information and anatomical areas of interest as per imaging protocol
- Prints out data reports and provides bone densitometry scan/patient record to authorized recipients as required
- Enters clinical data into computerized data base(s)
- May provide weekly, monthly regular reports/summaries of tests performed
- Complies with all continuing education requirements
- Establishes and maintains systems for patient test results and follow-up.

- Identifies the impact of cultural diversity and lifestyle choices on patient condition and makes accommodations for such differences.
- Utilizes proper body mechanics.

Experience

Education
- Successful completion of a formal limited x-ray education/training program.
License, Certification, Registration
- X-Ray Technician Limited Permit (California)
- Basic Life Support

Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of recent experience in medical assisting within the last 5 years.
Notes:
- This position covers and requires Bone Density exams.
- May required to perform other duties to stay productive.
- This is a Per Diem position that will require covering ALL DEXA locations from WH Med Center to the Ventura Clinics.
