Job Description

Kamehameha Schools is searching for an Analyst, Risk and Assurance to join our Internal Audit Department. This role is responsible for contributing to ongoing risk monitoring and assessment processes and supporting the delivery of high-quality, value-added assurance and advisory projects. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated; accountable; an effective communicator; a critical thinker with creative problem-solving skills; collaborative; open-minded; adaptable; and willing to learn.  Graduates with a BA, MA/MBA in Business, Economics, Finance, Information Technology or Accounting are encouraged to apply.

This is a Hybrid position which provides work from home flexibility on an approval basis.

Job Summary

Kamehameha Schools' (KS) Internal Audit (IA) Department is responsible for assisting the Board of Trustees in the effective discharge of their fiduciary responsibilities through providing independent, objective assurance, and consulting activities.

The Analyst, Risk and Assurance will work closely with more senior members of the team to assist in identification and analysis of risks and controls and in delivery of high quality, value added assurance and advisory projects. 
 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support the execution and completion of assurance and risk advisory projects across KS business activities.
  • Contribute to IA's ongoing risk monitoring, risk assessment, and audit program development for assigned projects.
  • Provide support to the organization's risk management system.
  • Responsible for documenting risk management processes and procedures, and other administrative tasks.

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications - An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the requirements listed.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Education, Information Technology, Computer Science or other related field.
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn and expand one's knowledge.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, analytical skills.
  • Dedicated to strong accountability and high-quality work.
  • Positive attitude that embraces constant learning and improvement opportunities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in education or not for profit institution.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Native Hawaiian language and culture.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently sit, perform desk based computer tasks and grasp light/fine manipulation.
  • Occasionally stand/walk, write by hand, and lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel, crawl, climb, reach/work about shoulder, grasp forcefully.

Working Conditions

  • This position may involve traveling to various locations, including neighbor islands to conduct business.
  • Work is conducted in an office/school environment and may require work to be conducted in non-standard workplaces.
  • Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday at normal business hours but evening and weekend hours are often required to meet goals and objectives.
