The Project Manager provides a wide range of project management and operational support including in the assistance in the administration and coordination of a variety of project management functions including planning, budgeting, organizing, research and delivery of services.

Departmental Specific Summary

The Project Manager provides a wide range of project management and operational support and assists in the administration and coordination of a variety of project management functions including planning, budgeting, organizing, research and delivery of services. Assignments may be with existing departments or entities within USC Health, organizations that are part of due diligence process with USC Health, or organizations that USC Health is building a relationship with.

Essential Duties

  • Project Management: Oversees and administers project functions such as planning, organizing, coordination, and implementing activities to meet objectives. Responsible for organizing multiple tasks with conflicting priorities, delivering the desired results on or below budget and successfully meeting deadlines. Responsible for the preparation of accurate program descriptions budgets and schedules. Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility Develop a detailed project plan to track progress. Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
  • Business Analysis: Analyzes information/situations, defining problems, articulating logical recommendations and recognizing alternatives and their implications. Oversees the timely and accurate production of the reports and formulation of recommendations/researches on subjects as assigned. Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Work closely with acquired or partnered or affiliated hospitals, ambulatory facilities and physician practices to expand existing Keck Medicine clinical programs, develop new clinical programs as needed and facilitate integrated multidisciplinary programs across the Keck Medicine provider network Develop and maintain effective relations with widely diverse groups such as staff members, faculty and executive leaders on a variety of complex issues and administrative tasks. Establish constructive working relationships with members of departmental staff by performing duties in a cooperative and helpful manner. Communicates clearly in conveying complex problems and proposals in both formal and informal settings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Req High school or equivalent
  • Req Bachelor's degree In a related field.
  • Equivalent experience may substitute for Bachelor's Degree.
  • Req 4 years Experience of directly related project management or administrative experience
  • Req Demonstrated experience in organizing and defining tasks, setting priorities, working independently, and following through with minimal direction in order to perform effectively under conditions of frequent interruptions, fluctuating workloads, and conflicting time demands.
  • Req Demonstrated ability to handle confidential material with discretion.
  • Req Communicate effectively and diplomatically with a wide variety of constituents to include: physicians, staff and executive stakeholders
  • Req Advanced skill in computer programs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. required.
  • Req Demonstrated ability in organizing multiple tasks with conflicting priorities, delivering the desired results on or below budget and successfully meeting deadlines.
  • Req Working knowledge of preparation of accurate program descriptions budgets and schedules.
  • Req Working knowledge of PC computer systems and applications using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Req Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relations with widely diverse groups such as staff members, faculty, and executive leaders, on a variety of complex issues and administrative tasks.
  • Req Demonstrated ability to establish constructive working relationships with members of departmental staff by performing duties in a cooperative and helpful manner.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Pref Master's degree Degree in related field.
  • Pref Demonstrated professional experience at a similar level of complexity, including responsibility for multiple or major projects management.
  • Pref Project Management Professional (PMP) Project management certification and training.

Required Licenses/Certifications: ​ ​

  • Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)

The annual base salary range for this position is $84,365.00 - $138,330.00.
