ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with scheduling process in assigned work area. Communicates with patients and others adequately and appropriately.
- Completes all required documentation.
- Continues professional development through continuing education.
- Demonstrates good patient care judgment commensurate with qualifications as a PTA.
- Implements treatment plans as delegated by PT and according to department standards.
- Participates in clinical education for PTA students.
- Participates in multidisciplinary treatment planning and care.
- Performs routine tasks necessary for maintaining a clean, safe and efficient work area.
- Possesses the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide treatment and patient/family education appropriate to the needs of the adolescent patient and to accurately assess the patient's response to treatment.
- Possesses the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide treatment and patient/family education appropriate to the needs of the geriatric patient and to accurately assess the patient's response to treatment.
- Possesses the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide treatment and patient/family education appropriate to the needs of the pediatric patient and to accurately assess the patient's response to treatment.
- Responsible for understanding and participating in the organization-wide Performance Improvement Program through orientation; education; departmental and interdepartmental quality control; quality improvement; and quality planning activities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Minimum (Required)
Graduate of educational program for PTA accredited by American Physical Therapy Association.

Work Experience
Minimum (Required)
- Minimum of one year experience in a hospital-based setting
- Evidence of continuing education applicable to hospital-based practice
- Evidence of participation in Performance Improvement activities.

Licenses and Certifications

- Must have a current, valid California license as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Must successfully complete and maintain BLS certification.

The hourly rate range for this position is $27.10 - $35.57. POSITION SUMMARY Provides patient care according to treatment plan and supervision/guidance provided by Physical Therapist (PT) primarily in adult and geriatric age groups with occasional, limited pediatric and adolescent patients. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to provide optimum quality care and services. May act as clinical instructor for PTA students.
