In partnership with our client, we are seeking multiple 2nd Shift Supervisor in the Global Medical Manufacturing Industry

The Supervisor supports day-to-day manufacturing operations related to insertion tube production, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with technical standards. 


Location: St. Louis, MO
Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $25-27/HR
Schedule: 1st Shift, 6 am-4:30 pm, Monday-Friday until May 2026, then move to 2nd shift 
OT: Saturdays



What's a typical day as a Shift Supervisor? You'll be:

  • Overseeing all second shift manufacturing operations related to insertion tube production, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with technical standards.
  • Performing production planning and coordinating work orders for the second shift.
  • Assigning duties to personnel to maximize efficiency and meet production schedules.
  • Ensuring machinery and equipment are properly set up, operated, and maintained.
  • Conducting routine quality control inspections and ensuring documentation accuracy.
  • Completing nonconformance reports and participating in root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Cross-training and receiving cross-training to support business continuity.
  • Managing personnel scheduling, communication, and conflict resolution.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment to prevent errors and misidentification.
  • Monitoring equipment operation and supporting equipment/tooling maintenance.
  • Leading and supporting continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving.
  • Performing manufacturing tasks, including extrusion, as needed.
  • Conducting annual performance reviews for direct reports.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
  • Have at least 3-5 years of manufacturing management experience (required).
  • Possess an Associate's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Quality, Industrial Technology, or a related field (relevant experience can substitute for degree).
  • Demonstrate experience with ISO 13485 (2 years required).
  • Are knowledgeable in quality management systems and able to interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Have strong mechanical aptitude, hand-eye coordination, and are skilled with hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Can effectively lead, guide, and develop personnel.
  • Are able to work independently, follow written and verbal directions, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Can sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Preferred: Higher education degree, prior supervisory experience, experience in medical device manufacturing or precision assembly, familiarity with Lean manufacturing, and experience with ERP or MES systems.
