Job Title: Accounting Analyst II (Power Accounting)
Work Model: Hybrid
Kelly, in partnership with our client, is currently hiring an Accounting Analyst II to support the Liquids Pipeline System Power Accounts Management Team. This role focuses on power expense accounting, utility bill verification, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Administer monthly power accruals, estimates, and cost variance reporting.
- Extract system operating data and analyze utility power bills for accuracy.
- Perform variance analysis between the General Ledger and internal tracking files.
- Allocate power bills from utilities to the appropriate business unit entities.
- Investigate discrepancies and identify potential sources of variance.
- Work with Accounts Payable to process monthly invoices for utility power bills across North America.
- Provide frontline support for internal stakeholder inquiries.
- Communicate with utility company representatives to clarify discrepancies and obtain updates.
- Support utility contract processes and cost estimations.
- Prepare documentation for internal and external auditors, including SOx compliance testing.
- Maintain compliance with established power accounting processes and procedures.
- Compile historical power cost and energy usage data for reporting and analysis.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives for power accounting systems and processes.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Completion of an Accounting or Business Degree/Diploma.
- 1–3 years of accounting-related experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
Nice to Have:
- Experience with crude oil or gas pipeline operations.
- Knowledge of electric utility rate structures.
- Experience with PowerBI and data manipulation tools.
