Accounting Specialist
Meridian, ID
Temp-to-hire
$25-45/hr DOE

*Position is fully onsite in Meridian
*40 hours a week/8-hour days, start your day between 7am and 9am as desired
*Will qualify for benefits once hired on after about 6 months


Kelly is seeking an Accounting Specialist to work with our client, a small business in the building materials industry with over 15 years of success, on a temp-to-hire basis. This is a great opportunity to join a family-run business that goes above and beyond for its clients and employees!

The Accounting Specialist will:

  • Report to the General Manager
  • Supervise and mentor 1-2 administrative employees
  • Process and record accounts payable transactions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Verify and reconcile vendor invoices and match with purchase orders or contracts
  • Prepare and process payments to vendors
  • Maintain organized records of all accounts payable documents
  • Post transactions to the general ledger and ensure proper account coding
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies
  • Generate and maintain Profit & Loss (P&L) reports
  • Monitor and track expenses to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Record banking transactions and resolve any discrepancies with bank statements
  • Assist with cash flow tracking and forecasting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Communicate with vendors, banks, and internal staff to resolve accounting issues
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in accounting
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
  • Previous supervisory experience is nice to have but not required
  • Proficiency with accounting software; experience with Epicor is a plus
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
