Manager – Tax Reporting
Location: Canton, MA
Schedule: Hybrid

Salary Range: $100-145K



We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to oversee tax reporting operations, manage compliance with federal and state regulations, and lead the tax department team. This role reports directly to the Executive Vice President of Finance, Investments, and HR and involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and tax authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage preparation and review of quarterly and annual federal and non-federal tax provisions for financial statements.
  • Prepare and file federal and state income tax returns and estimates for a consolidated group, including treatment of new subsidiaries and LLCs.
  • Prepare annual tax forecasts for the organization and its subsidiaries.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with tax authorities, auditors, and third-party tax service providers.
  • Oversee premium tax return processes, including Guaranty Fund Assessments, using TriTech and Optins software.
  • Coordinate municipal tax filings and reconcile related accounts.
  • Act as subject matter expert for Third Party Benefits tax matters, including filings and responding to inquiries.
  • Manage reporting requirements for informational returns (Forms 1099-R, 1099-INT, 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC, and Puerto Rico filings) in coordination with IT and external vendors.
  • Lead quarterly reporting on tax exhibits, tax estimates, and budget provisions.
  • Conduct tax research and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Lead tax software implementation projects.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA strongly preferred, advanced degree in Taxation a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant tax experience; public accounting and insurance industry background preferred.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with tax preparation and reporting software.
