Accounts Receivable Specialist
Direct Hire or Temp-to-Hire
Tacoma, WA
$30-33/hr

*Position is fully onsite

*Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm or 8am-4:30pm

Kelly is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to work with our client, a premier non-profit educational institution, on a direct hire basis – starting ASAP! This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference within a mission-driven and community-focused organization.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will:

  • Load contract information and all charges and credits into the billing database
  • Respond and resolve all billing inquiries and concerns by providing prompt professional customer service; maintain complete record of communications
  • Process daily deposits, consisting of check, cash and credit card receipts
  • Manage online payment portal, import payment data into database, and credit the appropriate payer
  • Assist payers with navigating portal and execute refunds when necessary
  • Prepare and send monthly statements, process refunds, and run reports as needed
  • Record and post student billing and general ledger cash receipts to computer system. Reconcile any variances between the general ledger and the billing database
  • Manage accounts receivable and prepare receivable monthly aging reports
  • Write dunning letters and assisting Controller in collections
  • File account documents and maintain complete record of original contracts
  • Assist CFO with various accounting projects, including calculating excise tax and creating monthly department budget reports
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of billing and accounts receivable experience in a computerized system
  • Proficient in Excel and 10-key
  • Google Workspace experience preferred
  • Must be able to work independently and possess strong work ethic
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail, excellent accuracy with numbers essential
  • Ability to interact with all stakeholders in a professional manner
