Description

The On-site Assistant Team Lead provides critical support and leadership for containment and quality assurance activities. Reporting safety matters to the Kelly Talent Advisor, you'll also assume the role of Quality Inspector and support the Team Lead as needed. In the Team Lead's absence, you will take full responsibility for all outlined duties. Key Responsibilities Assistant Team Lead / Acting Team Lead Duties:

  • Confirm attendance of Kelly contract employees
  • Allocate containment support and communicate requirements to contract employees
  • Distribute, monitor, and collect PPE and other safety equipment each shift (e.g., safety vests, glasses, bump caps)
  • Enforce site policies regarding attire (no jeans/jewelry permitted)
  • Responsible for shift communications (team phone management, logbook updates, shift briefings)
  • Enforce safety rules and promptly report safety breaches, accidents, or near misses
  • Monitor employee timecards for accuracy
  • Complete daily containment audits and deliver reports to the Kelly office
  • Train employees on sorting requirements when needed
  • Advise on required staffing as soon as possible
  • Attend weekly meetings with your Kelly Manager
  • Maintain organization and proper storage of supplies (locked cabinet at shift end)
Team Member Duties:
  • Perform sorting, inspection, and production tasks
  • Precisely follow work instructions and maintain organized workspace
  • Inspect incoming materials and products to ensure they meet specifications
  • Use inspection, measurement, and testing equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Complete all mandatory training courses
  • Accurately document work and maintain database entries related to quality
  • Communicate with leadership regarding technical questions or challenges
  • Promote and observe safety procedures at all times
Qualifications and Skills
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or quality inspection environment preferred
  • Careful attention to detail and critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Professional demeanor and self-motivation
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team
  • Ability to adapt and remain flexible
  • Proficiency with handheld devices (tablets)
  • CSA-approved safety shoes required
  • Strong organizational skills and time management
  • Ability to conduct safety audits and resolve deficiencies
  • Documentation and reporting skills (non-conformance, stock reports, etc.)
