What's a typical day as an Avionics/Electric Technician II. You'll be: 
 

  • Demonstrate technical skills in avionics and aircraft systems operational testing and troubleshooting.
  • Perform installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals.
  • Ensure quality and efficiency of all installations; troubleshoot systems to provide timely and accurate repairs.
  • Repair or replace defective components and wiring using approved methods such as splicing, soldering, and pinning.
  • Perform and comply with engineering changes and modifications as required.
  • Set up and operate test equipment; conduct functional and operational tests to verify performance and reliability.
  • Ensure all work performed is properly documented and inspection-ready.
  • Test and maintain electronic systems, components, and related test equipment.
  • Comply with company programs such as FOD, tool control, 5S, and safety regulations.
  • Adapt effectively to sudden schedule changes.
  • Support aircraft certification and final phase testing, which may include flight tests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
This job might be an outstanding fit if you have: 
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Four (4) years of experience in an avionics/electrical career field or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics plus two (2) years related experience.
  • A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred.
  • FCC license preferred.
  • NCATT certification preferred.
  • Preferred proficiency in troubleshooting additional aircraft systems such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls, or structural installations/repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.
