Quality Control Technician – Vadnais Heights MN

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and provide employee training on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and job – specific tasks.
  • Verify food quality and safety through SQF, HACCP, GMP, and daily forms.
  • Conduct periodic product and process quality checks. Perform visual inspections of packaged and finished products.
  • Sample and test incoming ingredients and packaging supplies. Review Certificate of Analysis (COA) for incoming raw materials. Ensure proper storage of raw materials and finished products.
  • Maintain accurate Quality Assurance records.
  • Conduct pre- and post-operational inspections. Conduct cleanliness inspections and collect samples for microbiological tests. Use lab equipment for DSC and HFT2000 fat analyzer, leak tests.
  • Audit finished products on production lines.
  • Communicate effectively with Line Operators and Operations Supervisors on quality issues.
  • Dispose of non-conforming products/materials properly. Report to QA Director for dispossession and corrective actions.
  • Maintain positive relations with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Serve as backup to QA Director for HACCP paperwork review if certified.
  • Monitor and maintain SOPs for Quality Assurance functions.
  • Oversee HACCP and food safety programs.
  • Assist in production, including packing, boxing, and labeling and other duties as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bilingual
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; 1-2 years of related experience preferred, especially in the food industry.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and standards.
  • Team player with the ability to interact with diverse individuals.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Food safety responsibilities are integral to this position.
Details
  • TTH, would consider DH for an experienced candidate
  • Mon – Fri 4pm – 12:30am – may require overtime
  • $18 - $25/hr
