We are excited to announce opportunities for Building Substitutes in Rowan County Schools for the 2024-2025 school year. These roles are vital to the success of our students and provide a stable and positive learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
As a Building Substitute, you will have the opportunity to support students, teachers, and the school community by stepping into various educational roles.
Position Details
A Building Substitute is assigned to one school and works on-site daily, regardless of teacher absences. You'll be a regular presence in the school, providing support wherever needed and ensuring continuity in instruction and classroom management. This role offers consistency and the chance to build relationships within the school community.
Responsibilities Include:
- Providing instruction and managing the classroom environment in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Reporting to the school office at the beginning of the day to receive lesson plans and schedules.
- Implementing lesson plans while maintaining student engagement.
- Supervising students in various settings such as classrooms, assemblies, and lunchrooms.
- Maintaining a positive and safe learning environment.
- Collaborating with school staff to support students' learning experiences.
- Following all school and district policies and procedures.
- For long-term assignments, developing lesson plans, grading assignments, and participating in school activities may be required.
- Building Substitutes MUST be available to work 5 days a week.
High School diploma/GED
At least 21 years of age
