Pay rate is $15.00 to $19.00/hour
Hours: Monday - Friday from 8:00AM – 5:00PM
Assignment length: March 31st to June 27th, 2025, with possible extension

Key Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Assistant, your typical day will involve:
- Screen incoming calls, faxes, or other digital formats for Utilization Management (UM) and/or Case Management (CM) and direct requests to the appropriate area. Identify and refer cases to the Case Management and/or Transition of Care departments as needed.
- Receive, investigate, and resolve customer inquiries and claims while maintaining departmental goals. Perform assigned projects and review reports.
- Load complete organization determinations/notifications for services in accordance with internal policy, documenting and entering data into the appropriate systems following departmental guidelines.
- Interact with membership, hospital, and provider staff, advising them of UM decisions and status organization determinations while providing necessary directions.
- Search for and enter appropriate diagnosis and/or procedure codes as part of the notification/prior authorization process.
- Must be able to pass required testing.
- Participation and attendance are mandatory.
- Flexibility is required due to schedule rotations, and adherence to assigned schedules is essential.
- Work overtime as needed.

Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience is required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Exceptional time management abilities
- Ability to work independently under general supervision and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Independent decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Current employees must meet minimum performance expectations
- Extensive knowledge of Utilization Management, Care Management, and Behavioral Health
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Solid knowledge of provider reimbursement methodologies, ICD-9-CM, CPT, HCPCS, UB-92 coding, UHDDS coding guidelines, and AHA Coding Clinic
- Ability to talk and type simultaneously in a clear and concise manner while interacting with customers
- Excellent customer service skills
