Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist II for a full-time position in Louisville KY 40219 United States. If you're experienced in PCR workflows and passionate about maintaining high standards in clinical diagnostics, this opportunity is for you.

Job Summary:

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist II will perform high-complexity infectious disease testing with a focus on precision and compliance. Responsibilities include lab safety, sample processing, troubleshooting, and upholding quality metrics while ensuring effective communication across the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute sample preparation, DNA extraction, and PCR testing

  • Operate instruments such as KingFisher Flex, Accufill, VeritiPro, QuantStudio 12K and 5

  • Perform manual and electronic pipetting of small volumes with accuracy

  • Follow GDP, GLP, and quality control protocols per SOPs

  • Perform preventive maintenance and workspace decontamination

  • Notify supervisors when test systems deviate from established performance levels

  • Participate in proficiency testing and required CEUs

  • Carry out pre-analytical accessioning, identify non-compliant specimens, and manage exception cases

Qualifications:

Education:

  • State licensure 

  • Minimum of 60 semester hours from an accredited institution, including:

  • Either 24 hours in medical laboratory technology

  • Or 24 hours in science (6 chemistry, 6 biology, and 12 in any combination of relevant subjects)

  • Completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved by ABHES, NAACLS, or HHS

    Experience:

  • 1 year of experience in a high-complexity clinical lab preferred

  • Familiarity with sterile technique, contamination control, and PCR workflows

  • OpenArray experience highly valued

Skills:

  • Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities

  • Adaptable to changes in workflow

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
