Kelly Services, in collaboration with a leading company in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a CNC Machine Operator in the Cranston, RI area. This is a direct hire opportunity, meaning you will be hired permanently with our client and offered their benefit and vacation package upon hire!
Salary:
- $20 - $27+/hr (depending on experience)
Shift:
- Sunday - Thursday
- 2nd shift: 3pm – 11pm
- 3rd shift: 11pm – 7am
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a CNC Swiss-style, multi-axis machine in a high-speed metal fabrication environment. Interpret blueprints to set up and operate machines.
- Use quality measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, optical comparator, microscope, video measuring equipment, and CMM) to verify product conformity, and follow work instructions, prints, and other documents. Maintain customer quality control records and chart.
- Track product in the production process using production software systems.
- Follow scheduled maintenance plans for equipment and safety rules. Resolve problems with the Supervisor and monitor and troubleshoot machine condition and performance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Two years of manufacturing experience and/or training preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills to interact with others positively
- 5 years of experience in metal cutting
- Fully self-sufficient and trained technician on CNC Swiss-style equipment
- Ability to complete tool changes and offsets as required
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting detailed blueprints with multiple tolerances and smaller dimensions and using measuring equipment independently
- Ability to execute the components of a setup sheet
- Capable of troubleshooting machines and resolving technical issues independently
- Ability to complete minor setups, read simple programs, and complete minor program edits successfully
