Job Title: Compound Operator

Job Type: Full-Time M-Thursday 6am-4:30pm Job Summary:
The Compound Operator is responsible for operating pharmaceutical production equipment in both sterile and non-sterile environments. This role supports the manufacturing of penicillin-based products by adhering strictly to standard operating procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and safety guidelines. The operator ensures materials are appropriately supplied, equipment is properly cleaned and maintained, and accurate records are kept throughout all production phases. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor sterile and non-sterile compounding equipment in compliance with SOPs and cGMP standards.
  • Perform compounding operations for penicillin-based sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.
  • Supply workstations with necessary materials and items for continuous production.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and document results accurately, completing all required paperwork and log entries.
  • Follow prescribed cleaning procedures to sanitize equipment, tanks, and production areas to prevent contamination.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and quality assurance personnel to ensure product integrity and workflow efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical training or certification in pharmaceutical or chemical processing preferred.
Experience:
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or related manufacturing environment with similar duties.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing practices and GMP compliance.
  • Skilled in operating and troubleshooting specialized compounding and production equipment.
  • Familiarity with sterile techniques and contamination control procedures.
  • Knowledge of sub-system integration and ability to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills and a professional demeanor in working with cross-functional teams.
  • Solid math skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with fractions and decimals.
  • Proficient in interpreting and following written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructions.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including gowns, gloves, masks, and eye protection.
