Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Customer Service/Sales Support Specialist for our client in Batavia, IL. This is a remote position (after training Batavia, IL). Candidates must have experience in construction or a related field and be very familiar with QuickBooks.

This is a Direct Hire, Permanent position, meaning you will be hired permanently with our client and offered their competitive benefit and vacation package upon hire.

Job details:
Pay: $50k - $60k, based on experience
Hours: 7:30am – 4pm
Will train in Batavia for a week or 2, then work remote.

Position Summary:
This role involves processing orders, responding to customer inquiries via email/phone calls, managing inventory, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting our sales team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, able to work with minimal supervision, and possess strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process wholesale business purchase orders received via email or phone using QuickBooks and SPS Commerce (enter Sales Orders, enter and send Purchase Orders when required, manage parcel and LTL shipments, and create and send Invoices)
  • Manage inventory levels at warehouse by monitoring stock and placing orders as needed.
  • Prepare and provide quotes to customers.
  • Issue RGAs and credit memos when required.
  • Participate in weekly Microsoft Teams meetings to provide shipping updates for large orders and key accounts.
  • Improve efficiency in order processing tasks, aiming to reduce time spent from 50% to 25-35%.
  • Assist the outside sales representatives who serve as outside sales resources for various industrial construction supply manufacturers.
  • Act as primary gatekeeper for the company, answering most incoming calls.
  • Review incoming purchase orders for manufacturers represented by company to ensure part numbers, pricing, discounts, shipping information, and pack quantities are correct before submitting to the appropriate manufacturer for processing.
  • Check stock, provide lead times and track orders by working closely with the customer service teams and/or information systems at our manufacturers.
  • Keep the shared online library up to date with the most current promotions, literature, and pricing.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customer service teams of our manufacturers.
  • Work with the customer service teams at our manufacturers to resolve customer issues fully and promptly.
  • Fulfill requests from outside sales representatives, including ordering literature and product samples to be sent to the reps or directly to customers.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in customer service and/or sales support roles, or relevant experience in construction or a related field.
  • Computer aptitude and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office program.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks – will be using daily.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Preferred experience in industrial construction.
