We are seeking a talented and dedicated Electrical Engineer II for a new role with a leading employer in SW Houston. Job Overview As an Electrical Engineer II, you will play a pivotal role in developing, improving, and implementing electrical technologies across our product portfolio. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your contributions will be vital in setting engineering standards and methodologies, identifying root causes, conducting design improvements, and managing various projects with a focus on work breakdown structures and resource estimation. Key Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Create, develop, and test electrical equipment, components, circuits, and systems.
- System Integration: Provide expertise in integrating electrical systems across various vehicle platforms and products.
- Installation Sequencing: Advise on the sequencing of equipment installation within a production setting.
- Equipment Disposition: Manage the utilization of new and non-conforming equipment items.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate drawings, specifications, instructions, procedures, and guidelines.
- Research & Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, conducting research to develop innovative solutions and products.
- Project Engineering: Lead electrical system development, integration, and testing initiatives.
- Collaboration: Work seamlessly with internal teams, vendors, suppliers, and other third parties.
- Timely Delivery: Ensure work assignments are completed accurately and on time.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as required.
- Degree: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 2-4 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Skills & Practices:
- Proven proficiency in design alternatives improving cost, durability, performance, and manufacturability.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Process-driven mindset with expertise in quality, supply chain, production, and engineering.
- Effective task and multi-phase project management.
- Familiar with ERP and MRP enterprise systems.
- Expertise in engineering practices including estimation (time & cost), configuration development, bill of material development, manufacturing sequence development, and system sustainment and maintenance.
- Proficient in creating, using, modifying, and archiving technical documentation.
- Proficient in AutoCAD-Electrical.
- Advanced Experience: Related technical degree with 5+ years of experience, showcasing progressive increases in manufacturing and production responsibilities.
- Industry Knowledge: Conceptual understanding of custom vehicle production.
