Job Opportunity: Electrical Engineer
Location: Austin TX
Duration:  1+ year with possible extension
Must be a US Citizen or Green card holder

International Travel may be required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in strategic planning and technology related discussions that drive equipment designs
  • Provide proven or innovative solutions to complex electro-mechanical mechanisms, as well as key industry-driven specifications
  • Present materials that support ideas pictorially and analytically using common “design review"" practices  
  • Interact with cross functional groups to plan, schedule and budget (multiple) projects
  • Provide timely, thorough and accurate release of engineering documentation that supports design requirements for R&D prototypes and / or high-volume manufacturing
  • Utilize safety standards in design and contributes to the safe operation of the equipment and company operations
  • Some travel required

Qualifications:
  • Job experience includes 2 years of semiconductor equipment industry related experience
  • Custom automation or related capital equipment background is acceptable.
  • BSEE is required
  • Ability to support design solutions through engineering calculations while utilizing cost effective methods Working knowledge of PCB layout and cable design
  • Previous background supporting comprehensive understanding of motion and thermal controls, RF and DC high power components and EMI/RFI shielding
  • In depth knowledge of industry standards, such as: Semi S2/S8, CE, NEC, etc.
  • Good written, verbal and presentation skills are required

Physical Demands and Work Conditions
  • The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Job duties are often performed in confined areas in a clean room environment, in awkward positions and/or in high places.
  • Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds is required. May require bending/stooping/crawling/climbing.
  • May require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Duties also include application of proper industry safety procedures when working with dangerous elements or conditions such as chemicals, electric currents or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, radiation, etc.
  • Occasional travel to customer factories, training facilities and customer locations may be required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • A clean room garment may be required to be worn for lengthy periods of time.
  • PPE is Required including, not limited to, consistent wearing of safety glasses, safety shoes and a bump cap.
  • Job duties may require walking up to and in excess of 10,000 steps and walking up and down multiple flights of stairs per shift (12 hours)
