Electrical Engineer II
**$47.05/hour**
* Domestic travel could be approximately 1 week per month when issues arise*
Kelly Government Solutions is hiring for an electrical engineer II on a DoD contract with our customer in Fridley, MN. This assignment should last approximately one year and could be extended.
Job Description:
Our customer, one of the world's leading defense contractors, is seeking an electrical engineer for their Combat Mission Systems business. The electrical engineer supports the development, testing, fabrication, and fielding of highly complex military equipment. The qualified candidate will work under general direction of a project engineering lead to perform electrical system design on a variety of military systems, ranging from combat vehicles, gun systems, and guided munitions. The electrical engineer provides detailed engineering analysis of components, subsystems, and systems for military product application.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Researches, plans, designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates electronic and electrical systems and components
- Utilizes advanced modeling and analysis tools to develop product specifications, models, simulations, technical data packages, and integration and verification procedures
- Evaluates vendor capabilities, technologies, services and their ability to deliver required products or services
Required:
- Two (2) + years relevant experience with a bachelor of science in electrical engineering or related field or one (1) + years with a master's degree
- Ability to solve moderately complex technical design and development problems
- Experience in creating, reading, and comprehending schematics and interconnect drawings
- Ability to create and manage interface control documents
- Ability to perform circuit simulation (PSpice or LTspice)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to convey data, information, and technical results
- Experience with analog and digital circuit design and analysis
- Experience developing technical documentation – such as drawings, reports, & technical analysis
Preferred:
- Experience with engineering design of wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for military systems
- Experience with Programming National Instruments test equipment using LabVIEW and Test Stand
- Hands-on troubleshooting of circuits using oscilloscopes and multimeters
- Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice, LabVIEW, Test Stand, RS485, J-Tag, CANBus
- Working knowledge of OrCAD and Visio
- Good Communication skills
