Role: Maintenance Technician
Location: Brooklyn Park, MN
Pay Rate: $30-32, based on experience
Schedule: Hybrid 2nd shift (12pm-10:30pm) Monday-Thursday
Job Summary: The Equipment and Maintenance Technician assists in the installation, repair, and monitoring of industrial processing and production machinery under the direction of the Equipment Maintenance Supervisor. This role involves operating, dismantling, cleaning, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment used in the liquid mixing, filling, and packaging of personal care products.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform line change-over, packaging equipment set-up, start-up, and troubleshooting to ensure efficient operation for production needs and goals.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on machines, equipment, and plant facilities, including problem identification, assessment of material requirements, requisition placement, and repair.
- Inspect machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Review and follow safety procedures for all equipment.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment to perform duties.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Handle multiple projects and prioritize work efficiently.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Trade school or work-related experience.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Flexibility in dealing with others in the organization and with work assignments/projects.
- Basic understanding of electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanics.
- Team player with the ability to work well with others.
- Self-organized and self-motivated; ability to work independently without supervision.
- Attendance is essential; no unexcused absences are acceptable.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift a minimum of 65 lbs. and push/pull up to 400 lbs.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
- Ability to work in an industrial environment.
