Salary: $65,000 - $70,000/year – pay is dependent on experience level
Location: Bedford Park, IL
Direct Hire Position!
In office 5 days: 6AM-2:30pm (M-F)(can be flexible on hours)

We are currently recruiting for an Estimator. The ideal candidate should have an investigative nature that drives their research to determine the amount of money, labor and tools necessary to complete a project. The candidate will have 1 – 3 years' experience in manufacturing preferably in steel forging or machining. Critical to the success of this position is the ability to work well in a collaborative manner within the company.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyzing requirement documents, blueprints and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project
  • Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product
  • Preparing material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service
  • Creating labor estimates for any project
  • Compiling and recording actual costs
  • Responsive to customer's requests via phone and e-mail, even during travel
  • Working with Customer Service-Inside Sales to accomplish the above effectively
  • Works closely with cross-functional team staff including Engineering, Quality and Production.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements
  • A background in forgings, castings or manufacturing preferred with the ability to read customer prints
  • Self-starter who takes ownership of his work with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while working effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in mathematics, statistics and data analysis
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Report writing and strategic planning skills
  • Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects
  • Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Must be computer proficient – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and be able to learn our ERP software as necessary
