Position Summary:  This position will assist in the Extruding department with handling and packaging the flexible conduct.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Use equipment that will take production scrap and separate into recycled state for reuse and saleable condition; includes stripping plastic off metal core/separating plastics and core sizes
  • Wrap full pillar packs of plastic
  • Return stripped core to Coiling/Square Lock
  • May be assigned other duties, such as, but not limited to:
Making reels, wrapping cartons with finished product or assembling cartons for Extruding Department 
  • Making cartons
  • Responsible for labeling cartons, reels and coils
  • Responsible for assisting Winder to set up puller, pusher, and or conveyor
  • Responsible for assisting Winder to get the core from Interlock tables
  • Responsible for keeping area clean and organized
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work under direct supervision and to follow written instructions and techniques.
  • Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Have good communication skills to work with other departments.
  • Must be able to read, use simple math, and use basic hand-held measuring tools.
  • Must have own tools.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move between 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to plant environment to include moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles.  Safety glasses, gloves and steel-toed shoes, long pants and shirt must be worn at all times. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
