Now Hiring- Eyelet Toolmaker in Watertown,CT
The Eyelet Toolmaker is required to maintain the control of processes in Eyelet Stamping. The role also provides support to the execution of the production schedule including anything from component changes, setups, and start-ups. The role is required to assist / support in all areas of Eyelet stamping, regardless of the task, to facilitate hands-on teamwork.
Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm
Pay: $35/hr
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan, layout, construct, alter and repair a wide variety of complex tools such as transfer/progressive dies, punches, jigs, fixtures, pins, gauges, and including complete press and automated assembly tooling.
- Follows specifications, engineering blueprints, tool orders, and shop data in order to confer with engineering to resolve design problems as they relate to dimensional tolerances, service requirements, manufacturing procedures, and cost.
- Requires knowledge of equipment such as Lathes, milling machines, all types of grinding machines, power saws, honing machines, jig boring, hydraulic, and manual arbor and other types of presses and all other tool room equipment.
- Use a variety of precision measuring instruments.
- Troubleshoot and repair a variety of issues: complicated tools, gears, pulleys, sensors, etc.
- Must be able to run all manual tool room equipment to make and groom tooling for eyelet transfer presses.
- Lay out work and perform most difficult and exacting bench and machine operations to construct, fit and assemble highly complicated eyelet tools, dies and gauges.
- Plans and performs a sequence of tool room machine operations where recognized methods are available on work involving close tolerances and fits requiring judgment to make general decisions on quality, tolerances, etc.
- Setup and troubleshoot complex production tooling and component quality issues at the press.
- Follows specifications, engineering blueprints, tool orders, and shop data in order to confer with engineering to resolve design problems as they relate to dimensional tolerances, service requirements, manufacturing procedures, and cost.
- Repairs and replaces production tooling when needed.
- Skilled bench work, fitting, assembling, adjusting, and repairing of production equipment and tooling.
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
- Journeyman License Preferred
- 5 years direct hands-on work experience in the Eyelet Manufacturing industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Able to read blueprints
- Ability to handle all aspects of metal forming from print to production
- Experience with deep drawn metal products in high-speed transfer presses and/or cosmetic parts is a plus
- Ability to prioritize work is essential
- Good verbal & written communication skills
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Min of High School Diploma or GED Required
Physical Demands (Reasonable accommodations provided):
- Ability to lift and/or move 50 lbs.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the production floor.
- Physical requirements include but not limited to sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, stooping, crouching, color determination and grasping.
