CMM Field Service Technician (Contract to Direct)
Location: Rosemont, IL area
Pay: $31 to $34 an hour depending upon qualification
Daily Per Diem and Mileage reimbursement
Paid Holidays, but no PTO
Travel: 100%, candidates can expect 4-5 nights a week overnight travel within regional territory

Overview: The Field Service Technician is responsible for installing and servicing a variety of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), machine tools, and accessories. You will provide technical support for all applications of products encompassing CMM, metrology, demonstration, functionality, and performance. For qualified candidates, Client will provide comprehensive training and shadowing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the installation and machine maintenance, which includes diagnosis, repairs, certification, and re-calibration of various machines at the customer sites, to conform to factory specifications and accuracy standards.
• Performs service calls at customer sites to correct problems involving company products, diagnoses and corrects the problem, and performs related duties to customer satisfaction.
• Provides technical support to other service representatives and customers.
• Ensures prompt preparation and completion of service and expense reporting related to assigned duties.
• Provides the highest customer satisfaction while representing client in a professional manner.
• Supports organizational policies related to safety, environmental protection, housekeeping, etc. within area of responsibility.
• Supports and participates in continuous improvement activities that positively affect safety, the environment, quality, reliability, and productivity or improve the overall suitability and effectiveness of the management system, its processes, and products.
• The design, documentation, testing, creation, or modification of computer programs related to machine operation.
• Technical duties include tasks that are both mechanical and electrical.
• Mechanical duties include assembly, disassembly, leveling, diagnosis and repair of mechanical issues on automated equipment.
• Electrical duties include diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair of control systems.
Required Skills/Abilities
• Associates Degree preferred or equivalent combination of technical courses and experience
• Must be self-motivated, highly detail-oriented and organized, capable of working independently
• Minimum of three years mechanical, electrical, computer, and software experience
• Military job experience is welcome
• Must exhibit independence and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with minimal assistance.
• Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills
• Must be able to travel extensively in a Regional Territory
• Lifting of up to 75lbs
