Description

Kelly Services is hiring a Final Line Mechanic II to work with Gulfstream, a leading aircraft manufacturer, at GAC Savannah in Savannah, GA (31408). This role offers hands-on aerospace experience with a stable, full-time schedule.

Pay: $28.75/hour

Schedule: Full-time, 1st shift 4:30 am – 3:00 pm

Contract: 48 months

Key responsibilities:

  • Assemble, install, and adjust aircraft structure parts and system components, including control cables, linkages, landing gear, doors, engines, and cowls.

  • Remove and replace system components; cut and fit system lines and associated hardware for repairs.

  • Perform quality inspections of all installations; rework as necessary to ensure conformity.

  • Install system lines, valves, ducts, and hardware to achieve leak-free and precise assemblies.

  • Use specialized tools and equipment such as permaswage pumps, dies, line cutting tools, witness gauges, and wrenches.

  • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and structural issues and perform basic repairs.

  • Update and maintain required logs and records (e.g., MIR sheets, DMTs, PCOs, Crabs).

  • Check your work and, when needed, verify work of junior mechanics prior to final inspection.

  • Maintain a neat and safe work area; support the company FOD and 5S programs.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and aircraft certification/final testing as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum 3 years of aerospace/aviation experience or equivalent mechanical experience (auto mechanics, heavy equipment, etc.).

  • A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.

  • Skilled in close-tolerance work, ship-fitting parts, drilling, reaming, and use of special tools.

  • Ability to operate hydraulic mule pumps, fixtures, and jigs.

  • Must be able to climb ladders/stands/stairs, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail, hands-on aptitude, and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
