What a typical day as Fitness & Wellness Specialist might look like: 

l Carrying out the daily tasks that keep the facility running smoothly.
l Meet with employees for facility orientations, fitness consultations for members and program design.
l Educate participants on proven health and fitness information, available fitness and engagement programming and wellness services.
l Monitor, engage and instruct participants in the Wellness Center on the safe and effective use of cardiovascular, flexibility and strength training equipment within the facility.
l Maintain positive customer and client experience by providing the highest quality of service.
l Instruct group exercise classes and maintain a client base for personal training.
l Specialists are responsible for the weekly email newsletter content on a rotational basis and monthly updates the bulletin boards throughout the center.
l Assist the staff in onsite laundry services throughout the day.
l Attends company functions representing the Wellness Center.
l Fitness Specialists also assist in other facility operations as the supervisor assign duties.
l Be able to instruct group fitness classes
l Be able to work onsite and assist the staff in working opening and closing shifts.

 This job might be an outstanding fit if you: 

l Previous experience teaching group exercise classes with the ability to maintain a personal training client base.
l Able to work onsite and assist the staff in working opening and closing shifts.
l Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
l Ability to work well independently and in teams and manage multiple responsibilities needed.
l Microsoft Office knowledge helpful.
l American College of Exercise (ACE) certification preferred.
l Competency in prescribing and completing exercise testing.
l Must be CPR/AED and First Aid certified.
l A degree in a health related-field or hold a NCCA-accredited certification in a fitness related certification.
