Job Title: Industrial Sewing Machine Operator

Pay: $26 hr plus depending on experience
Schedule: Mon-Fri Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Sewing Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sewing and soft goods manufacturing—preferably in the aerospace industry—and will be responsible for the precise fabrication of products according to design specifications and quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities-
Sew materials by hand and/or industrial sewing machines to join, gather, reinforce, or decorate materials and fabricated articles.

Cut materials according to specifications or trim excess material/thread using blades, scissors, or electric knives.

Examine and measure finished articles to verify conformance to quality standards.

Monitor machine operations to detect and correct stitching defects, thread breaks, or malfunctions.

Set up and adjust machines by mounting attachments, threading materials, and aligning guides.

Position and mark patterns on materials in preparation for sewing.

Operate specialized automatic and semi-automatic sewing equipment as required.

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, oiling, and needle replacement.

Record production information such as materials used and output quantities.

Ensure product quality and accuracy per fabrication instructions and drawings.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum 5 years of sewing or soft goods manufacturing experience (aerospace experience preferred).

Proficiency with industrial sewing machines, including:

Straight Stitch (single & double needle)
-
Walking Foot
-
Bartack
-
Buttonhole
-
3-Thread Rolled Hem Serger
Skilled in reading and interpreting fabrication instructions and assembly drawings (English).
Experience creating and fabricating soft-goods patterns.
Ability to meet very tight tolerances in sewing and cutting operations.
Team-oriented with strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods (approximately 90% of the time).

May occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs. (approximately 5% of the time).
