Inventory Control Specialist

Kelly Services in partnership with a specialized manufacturer, is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist. The Inventory Control Specialist oversees inventory management by identifying, regulating, and categorizing stock as usable or non-usable. Additional responsibilities include ensuring adequate supplies in designated areas.

Duties:

  • Identify, control, segregate, and maintain stock.
  • Place inventory in correct locations and verify identification, labeling, counting, and markings.
  • Select items from inventory for manufacturing, assembly, and work order completion.
  • Collaborate with the Operations and Purchasing Departments to maintain consistent stock levels, requesting new stock as needed.
  • Record and compile inventory reports.
  • Analyze inventory reports and order patterns to identify items needing automatic, recurring delivery.
  • Preserve articles or parts in inventory, including those with deterioration and shelf-life specifications.
  • Provide inventory reports to the Purchasing and Operations Managers.
  • Manage and maintain the inventory system, facilitating upgrades under direction.
  • Conduct spot and partial audits of physical inventory daily, weekly, and monthly as required.
  • Assist with periodic physical inventory audits.
  • Ensure a sufficient supply of fire and safety equipment at safety stations and their replacement after use.
  • Serve as backup for the Receiving function as required.
  • Act as a Quality Control Inspector (Limited).
  • Operate a forklift truck when necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.

Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, the Purchasing Department, and the Operations Department.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
  • Proficient keyboarding skills.
  • Highly organized and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Experience with computerized inventory systems required.
  • Forklift operator certification preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
